John Michael Marino Foundation, Inc. Supplemental
Information

The John Michal Marino Foundation, Inc. (JMMF), a not-for-profit 501(c)3 charitable
organization, was established in 1996 as the philanthropic arm of the John Michael
Marino Lodge #1389 Order Sons and Daughters of Italy in America (OSDIA). The John
Michael Marino Lodge has been an active organization within Port Washington and the
surrounding communities since its inception almost 100 years ago, on November 25,
1925.

Although the lodge and foundation are related, the two organizations operate as separate
entities. The foundation is a non-commercial, non-sectarian, and non-partisan
organization with an annual operating budget of about $30,000-$35,000. In its mission
statement the foundation is tasked with rendering assistance and support ~o institutions
and organizations pursuing religious, benevolent, educational, cultural and philanthropic
programs and purposes and to independently undertake such purposes and objects, and in
the disbursement of its funds for scientific, educational, literary and charitable purposes.

F or the past 28 years, the JMMF has provided support to local charitable, religious,
cultural and educational organizations, regardless of ethnic background. Since 1996 the
John Michael Marino Foundation (JMMF) has distributed various scholarships and
awards to over 350 high school students in support of their future college or vocational
studies. Applicants from all religious or ethnic backgrounds are encouraged to apply for a
scholarship. Aside from demonstrating a minimum academic standing, an emphasis is
placed on the students' engagement in community service and volunteerism since these
are fundamental to our organization's mission. In 2024 the John Michael Marino
Foundation awarded over $12,000 in scholarship and award monies to 14 students.

The JMMF works to support all members of our local community by offering grant
opportunities to many local charities and service organizations. In 2024 we participated
in quarterly community food drives to restock local food pantries, and hosted events,
such as the St. Joseph's Day tables and memorial masses at local churches (raising more
than $2600 in support their outreach programs). Through grant opportunities we
distributed over $7,000 to local charities that provide services to all members of our Port
Washington and Manhasset community. The Henderson Marino VFW Post, the Port
Youth Activities, the Port Washington Adult Activities Center, Long Island Science
Museum, and the Cow Neck Peninsula Historical Society are just a few of the local
